We left Saskatoon three weeks ago.
ReplyDeleteWe asked ourselves if we'd stay or go when we had the chance.
Now, back home I feel safe in a way I never felt in Saskatoon.
We lived in Fairhaven.
A nice place, outside Circle Drive, isolated from the alphaghetto with lots of greenspace for the kids.
It just never felt safe.
The housing bubble in Winnipeg is nearly as bad as in Saskatoon.
I know property taxes will not go up here as much as they will there.
I blame the mayor and his two hundred million dollar spending spree while neglecting to deliver basic services.
When the 'blizzard' hit Saskatoon last year the same storm hit Winnipeg.
Saskatoon shut down for two days while Winnipeg stayed open for business.
Afterwards, the mayor blamed it on someone else.
I blame the mayor.
We didn't ever see it getting better and that is a large part of why we left.
To the 1st poster. " I can't say i blame you for leaving Saskatoon as I may do the exact same thing. I've lived here my whole life and alway's loved it and never dreamed of leaving. Since the boom though, this is not the same Saskatoon. I use to feel safe and it was affordable, but seems that's not the case anymore. It's very busy and crime has increased and don't even get me started on the prices of homes & rent.
ReplyDeleteYour probably right, the Mayor will look to the tax payers for his spending spree.
